Girl, Cleanse Your House! Part 2

Recap! Last time I started a series called, Girl, cleanse your house! This is a 2-part series on cleansing your house. This issue is very important, spiritually imperative even. The house I am referring to is your physical dwelling place, not your body. Although we should practice keeping our bodies holy. The Word tells us ‘Do not be ignorant of satan’s schemes’ (2 Corinthians 2:11) and also ‘be always on the alert for satan is looking for someone who he can easily deceive’ (1 Peter 5:8). Do not be that person. Cleansing your house–and keeping it cleansed–is essential because demonic spirits will come in through any doors you have opened and make themselves at home. If you are a child of God, demons and demonic objects have no place in your life (or your house). However, if you have opened a door to them, they will oppress you until you get that door closed and get rid of them.

Now, for part 2 of this series. This week I am going to give you a list of things, which definitely should not be in your house. The Holy Spirit may advise you to add some things to this list. Get rid of everything that depicts sin, agrees with sin, celebrates sin, or memorializes sin or other evil. Also, get rid of posters and anything, which produces lustfulness, especially movies or art. God commands us to test the spirits to determine their true purpose. The same holds true for things in our homes. Does it excite the flesh or does it inspire worship in our hearts toward God? Posters with rock singers, faces of evil, or movie stars who are known for their open sin of lust should all be discarded. As I stated last week, Remember, objects carry spirits. According to 2 Chronicles 29: 15, “You shall not bring an abomination (idol) into your house, and become doomed to destruction.”

Idols or statues that others use for worship are specifically forbidden in Scripture, such as statues of Buddha. These are not decorative items, they are demonic. Wooden masks, baskets, paintings, and art objects can also have a demonic curse on them. Such objects such as these need to be burned or destroyed, for they open doors which will lead to satanic bondage and attack. If these items have been used in the worship of idols, they have to be removed from your house. Get rid of candles with demonic symbols and occultic games like D&D.
You should also get rid of any jewelry, which does not glorify the Father. Sometimes, we simply think things are cute and buy them, not realizing the significance. For example, the ankh cross. According to Hall’s Illustrated Dictionary of Symbols in Eastern and Western Art, it is defined as an “Egyptian hieroglyph for life, possibly originally a representation of a sandal strap. As a symbol, it denotes eternal life and when held to the nose of a dead pharaoh ensures his everlasting existence. It is held by many deities, in particular, Atum, the sun god of Heliopolis, and (when seated) Sekhmet, the lion-headed war-goddess of Memphis”. Mood rings are in the same category; also, jewelry and emblems bearing the “peace sign,” in witchcraft it depicts the “broken cross,” mocking Jesus’ death. Make a practice of avoiding these things also: extrasensory perception (ESP), haunted houses, ghosts, mental telepathy, clairvoyance, astrology, communicating with the dead, witches, reincarnation, and channeling.” All of these things open your home to the demonic. Below is a more extensive list of items to remove:

1. Signs of the zodiac
2. Voodoo dolls or anything used in casting spells
3. The Crescent and Star
4. The five-pointed star (pentagram) turned upside down (used in Satan worship)
5. The horn of the unicorn, swastika, yin yang symbol
6. Emblems of various lodges (those who take oaths with a curse)
7. Additional evil books (witchcraft, false religions, false Bibles, lucid sex books, parapsychology, new age, human philosophies, pornographic books, etc.)
8. Anything used in fortune-telling (playing/tarot cards, crystal balls, witching sticks, Ouija boards)
9. Books from the cults (Book of Mormons by Joseph Smith, New World Bible Translation, books by Mary Baker Eddy, etc.)
10. Rock and Rap music with evil lyrics

If you are ready to commit to a thorough house cleansing here is an example of a Cleansing Prayer.

Pray: Father God, I come to you in the name of Jesus, my God and my King. I am putting on Your full armor so that I can take my stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. I put on the full armor of God, so that in this day of evil I may stand my ground. I adorn myself with the belt of truth buckled around my waist, the breastplate of righteousness in place, and on my feet the gospel of peace. I take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of satan. I take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

(If you pray in tongues, now would be the time in order for the Holy Spirit will give discernment on the spirits in your home).

Father, I thank you that I have the gift of discerning of spirits so that I may remove all the evil spirits from my home. I ask that your Holy Spirit dwell here with me and my family and that you will lead and guide us through this process today. Thank you for angelic assistance to help with the removal of all of these evil spirits. Send the angels to war on my behalf and handle any demonic powers that we cannot handle.

(Start opening all the windows and doors in your home or at least one in each room.)

I command every evil spirit to leave this home now in the name of Jesus. You cannot stay here. You have no part in me.  I renounce you and any other spirits that come with you.

(If the Holy Spirit specifically impresses upon you a particular spirit or spirits make sure to command them to leave by name. e.g., spirit of infirmity, addiction, sexual immorality, poverty, suicide, etc. Anything that comes to mind call it by name and tell it to leave in the name of Jesus)

(Go to each room with the anointing oil and anoint all the doors and windows at the top or corner with the sign of the cross. Pray this over each door and window. 🙂

I close this door/window in the spirit realm to any evil spirit. No longer shall you use this as an access point to gain entrance to this home. Only angels assigned by the Commander of Heaven’s armies are allowed to enter this home. I mark the sign of the cross as a reminder to you that this house is covered under the blood of Jesus and you, foal demonic spirit shall pass over it and never enter into this house again, in Jesus’ Name.

(Take your time and go through your entire house and do this for every window and door. If you come across items as you are going through the house that gives you a feeling that a spirit may be attached to it you need to remove it from your home.

We all need to pray for God’s direction in cleansing our homes. When I started writing this blog the Holy Spirit reminded me that I also needed to go through my house and do some cleansing. We must always be aware of the little foxes and small amounts of yeast that slip in from time to time. It’s time to start cleansing. I hope this post was a blessing to you; if so, please share.
