I just returned from a trip to DC and the GGG 2025 Women’s Conference. I had a great time, ate some really good food, met some great people, did some shopping, and unashamedly worshipped the living God. The trip started with cancelled flights, and two members of our group did not make it to DC. Our 4-person girls’ trip turned into a group of two.
God’s Glamorous Girls is a women’s conference hosted by Faith City Central in Brandywine, MD, with pastor Dr. DeeDee Freeman. The conference had a phenomenal list of speakers, and the worship was on point. Nona Jones, Real Talk Kim, Jewel Tankard, comedian Phylicia D’Shea, and the other speakers did not disappoint. GGG 2026 is open for registration if you want to plan a trip for next summer.

My friend, Delphine, and I stayed at the Club Wyndham Resort at the National Harbor. It is located in a very walkable area of DC with a beautiful view of the Potomac and lots of restaurants. We walked to lunch and dinner each day. On Thursday, we stopped at this store called Community Love Hub.
For all of my melanin-rich skin-tone folk (you know who you are), this store has you covered.

This tee was one of my favorites. The clothes are very unique, well-made, and speak volumes. Check it out.
The food choices were pretty good. We ate at the Redstone American Grill, Nando’s PERi-PERi Chicken, and SUCCOTASH. Each place was unique and had its own specialty. There were many more choices for food that we did not have an opportunity to explore.
The National Harbor was amazing.

There was a park for kids, monuments, waterfront events, the Capitol Ferris wheel, and let’s not forget the Tanger Outlet Mall. It’s a nice place to hang out and enjoy the sights and sounds.
That’s it for my trip to the DC area. I had fun and hope to spend more time there in the future. Where did your summer travels take you?
