I originally shared this message five years ago. This morning, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart: “My people are struggling. Share this word again and remind them of their identity and what I am preparing to do in their lives.”
A Prophetic Word: ROAR
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hearing one word repeatedly from the Holy Spirit: ROAR. In every worship song, every sermon, every devotional—the theme of roaring kept appearing. After spending time in prayer and meditation on this word, God has released me to share what He’s been revealing.
The time has come for God’s people to speak up, take their stand, and lift their voices to heaven. The enemy may think he has the upper hand, but God is saying, “If you want to see My hand move in your life and in your church, you must RISE UP AND SHOUT.” ROAR—because victory is already in your camp.”
Biblical Examples of Roaring
Amos 3:7-8 declares, “Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets. The Lion has roared—who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken—who can but prophesy?”
God is releasing a prophetic roar across the land. While the enemy has attempted to prowl around “like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8), bringing confusion and fear, the Father has sent the Lion from the Tribe of Judah to release a roar that will shake nations and scatter the enemy’s plans. God’s roar is infinitely more powerful than the enemy’s weak imitation.
The worship song “Raise a Hallelujah” by Bethel Music captures this truth: “I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm / Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar.”
Three Types of Roaring
In Scripture, we see roaring coming from three sources:
- The enemy’s roar – designed to intimidate and devour
- The people of God’s roar – our declaration of faith and praise
- God’s roar – His sovereign voice of authority and power
Our Response: Roar Louder
When the enemy roars, we must roar louder. As God’s people, we need to raise our voices and ROAR as though victory is already ours—because it is. We cannot afford to keep our eyes fixed on our circumstances. Instead, we must focus on what God’s Word declares over our lives.
A Call to Action
When we take time to listen to the Lord’s voice, He will reveal where we need to be and what we need to do in this season.
It’s time to take your stand. Let your praises ROAR.
When you do, God will step into your situation. Watch and see what He will do.
