There is a language the Spirit of God loves to speak, the language of “In Him.” Scripture declares, “For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being]” (Acts 17:28). This is not poetic exaggeration. It is the foundation of your existence. Before you were a believer, before you knew His name, your very breath was sustained in Him. But salvation moves that truth from the natural to the supernatural. Now you don’t just exist in Him, you live in Him.
John’s Gospel opens with a declaration that changes everything: “In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men.” (John 1:4). Life was not merely given by Him; it dwells in Him. That means if you want real life, you cannot find it apart from Christ. You cannot borrow it, manufacture it, or achieve it. You must be found in Him.
Scripture is saturated with these realities. “In Him we have redemption [that is, our deliverance and salvation] through His blood, [which paid the penalty for our sin and resulted in] the forgiveness and complete pardon of our sin, in accordance with the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7). “And in Him you have been made complete [achieving spiritual stature through Christ]” (Colossians 2:10). “In Him [and in fellowship with one another] you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:22). In Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.] (Colossians 1:17), For it is through Him that we both have a [direct] way of approach in one Spirit to the Father (Ephesians 2:18), and Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. (Romans 8:37). Every preposition is a doorway into a different facet of who you are because of what He accomplished.
Stop searching for identity, provision, or purpose outside of Christ. Ask yourself today: What am I trying to find “in” something or someone other than Him? Am I looking for peace, security, or worth? These are not things you achieve; they are realities you already possess in Him. Renew your mind daily by speaking these truths aloud: “In Him I live. In Him I have life. Through Him I am more than a conqueror.” Let your prayer life, your decisions, and your identity be rooted in this union, not in circumstance.

Father, thank You that I am not left to construct my own life apart from You. Thank You that in Christ I live, I move, and I have my being. Open my eyes to every “In Him” reality Your Word declares over me. Teach me to walk daily in the fullness of who I am in Christ, not in the shadow of who I once was. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
