Atmospheric Changes: Praise is Key

Atmospheric changes occur when you worship the Most-High God. Have you ever noticed a change in the atmosphere around you when you start praising God? Just as our natural climate changes when different objects are introduced into the atmosphere, our spiritual climate also changes when we introduce praise.

I was reminded this week of how quickly the weather can change. I was on a cruise, and on two separate occasions, the weather changed and interrupted my plans. One day, we were on the beach, and a storm came so quickly that we barely had time to get to cover before we were drenched. On the last day of our cruise, we were headed back to Miami, and the captain announced that we had to stay at sea another day due to a tropical depression. Everything was looking good and then something was introduced into the atmosphere and viola, a change of plans.

atmospheric changesFor Biblical examples, let’s look at 2 Chronicles 5:13-14. When the praises started, “then the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud so that the priests could not remain standing to minister because of the cloud; for the glory and brilliance of the Lord filled the house of God.”  Also, 1 Kings 8:10-11. God showed up. During our praise sessions, we invite the Holy Spirit into our midst, we invite change, and we invite healing and deliverance. We are asking God to do a work in us and He always answers and provides exactly what we need. We have to be open to receiving it. Sometimes, you can only feel the change, but at other times, you can actually see the Glory of God. Either way, God shows up.

Keep the praise and worship coming forth. Wake up with praise on your lips and see what God will do. Watch how the atmosphere around you is electrified and all of sudden all of those things which occupied your mind dissolve like fog on a sunny day. Watch God show up and cause atmospheric changes in your life. There is a song by Bethel that speaks to my heart called Ever Be. The lyrics contain a line which states, “Your praise will ever be on my lips”. I pray this resonates in your heart also. I think the version by Caleb and Kelsey is really good also.
