Panic or Pray: Speak to your Storms

Panic or pray. Those are two choices we have every day. Today’s weather forecast calls for storms all day; some severe. When you hear those words do you panic or do you pray? As believers, we have authority in the earth to speak to our situation and expect that situation to change as it relates to the Word of God. Mark 11:23-24 says ‘speak to the storms in your life and do not doubt’. In Luke 10:19, Jesus told the disciples “I give you authority over all the power of the enemy (the devil).  You have been made kings and priests to Read More

Sufficiency: It Would Have Been Enough

Sufficiency is a gift from God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God (2 Corinthians 3:5). This weekend we celebrated Resurrection Sunday and Passover. I always think of the prayer we pray during Passover. It’s called Dayenu, which means ‘It would have been enough (sufficient). It is a song of thanksgiving and praise. Take a moment to read this prayer and meditate on it. When you began to look back over your life and see all that God has brought you through, shout Dayenu (It Would Have Read More

Cracks in your armor: Three ways to seal them

Cracks will appear in your armor from time to time. Our armor protects us from the attacks of the enemy. Where do these cracks come from? How do we become aware of these cracks? How do we fix these cracks? The Word of God admonishes us in Ephesians 6:10 – 17: “Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only Read More

Kings: Radical Confrontations

The books of Kings are filled with many who did not back down, they stood their ground amidst radical confrontations. It is the equivalent of the New Testament book of Acts and speaks of the glory of God then and now. When I read the books of Kings, I cannot help but be genuinely inspired by all that was said and done. I must continually put my trust in the God who sent ravens to feed (1 Kings 17:4) and lepers to lead (2 Kings 7:9-11).  Who but God could accomplish such feats? Sometimes God will lead you to places Read More

Delays: Wait Patiently for the Lord

Delays happen. Delay is defined as postponing until a later time; defer, to cause to be later or slower than expected or desired. Our focus scripture is Isaiah 40:31 –  “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” I have been hearing the Lord say ‘Stop making excuses; stop procrastinating, stop playing Read More

Commonality: Five Ways to Stay Connected

The commonality is a mind link in a science fiction alien world. The aliens are called Taelons, and the commonality served to connect or link the consciousness of the aliens to each other. I was watching an episode of the show (Earth Final Conflict) recently, and I thought about how as Christians, we share a sort of commonality (connection) with God. Our commonality is not a mind link; it’s through the infilling of Holy Spirit (Jude 20-21).  The work of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life is an on-going process. The Holy Spirit convicts, leads, guides, prompts, and assists Read More
