Vision: Seek it, write it, and obey it.

Vision is important in our everyday walk with the Lord. As you start this new year are you seeking to follow God’s vision or are you looking for direction from other sources. God has a plan (Jeremiah 29:11) and you have to discover and live out that plan.  We must be in agreement with God and walk in obedience to the plan He has for us. The evening news can’t tell you the plan; your favorite tv show can’t tell you the plan; your best friend can’t tell you the plan; only God can reveal it to you.  We must Read More

Lies: Take Courage and Go Forth

Lies, self-doubts, and other words are being spoken against you from the enemy. Take courage. The enemy is trying to discourage you from fulfilling your calling. Let me offer you some encouragement. Although things look bad, from your perspective, take another look. Start to see things from God’s perspective. The last couple of years have been rough for a lot of people. Let’s be honest. How many of you are in worst shape now than you were at the beginning of the pandemic? How many of you lost jobs, loved ones, friends, homes, etc. How many of you have been Read More

Compromise: Just Stop It!

Compromise has entered the church.  The door was opened and the enemy walked right in without the slightest bit of resistance. When the church starts relationships with those organizations outside of the church, be careful who you dip with( make a covenant/or break bread with). When the enemy cannot curse and crush the church, he seeks to corrupt it through compromise. I started a new book recently and as part of my research, I studied Revelation Chapters 2 and 3 about the Seven Churches and the message for each church. God gave encouraging words and He gave words of warning. Read More

Worship: Weapons of my Warfare

Survival strategies are essential. I have several strategies I utilize when the enemy attacks. One of those strategies is WORSHIP. I don’t know about you, but for the last couple of years, I have been in an intense battle. The fiery darts of the enemy were fired repeatedly at me during this time. Just one thing after another. In fact, worship is my number one strategy.  Worship is a wholeness word. It not only includes music but also giving, loving, praying, obeying, and reading the Word.  It involves surrendering our whole being to the one true God. God is not Read More

Narratives: Pursuing Purpose in a Crazy World

Narratives are the storylines of your life. They are accounts, reports, stories, events, or experiences. My narratives include being born and raised in rural North Carolina to currently working on my doctorate. I have changed the narratives of my life many times.  Recently I heard the Lord say,  ‘tell my people it’s time for them to remove themselves from the narratives currently shaping their lives’. Removing yourself from the narratives means it is time to stop doing whatever it is you are currently doing, take a look at what you are doing and see if it lines up with what Read More

Panic or Pray: Speak to your Storms

Panic or pray. Those are two choices we have every day. Today’s weather forecast calls for storms all day; some severe. When you hear those words do you panic or do you pray? As believers, we have authority in the earth to speak to our situation and expect that situation to change as it relates to the Word of God. Mark 11:23-24 says ‘speak to the storms in your life and do not doubt’. In Luke 10:19, Jesus told the disciples “I give you authority over all the power of the enemy (the devil).  You have been made kings and priests to Read More
