God is speaking to us right now. If we pay attention, we can clearly hear His voice. Sometimes it’s through friends, other times through enemies. We really need to listen. One missed message from God can cause us to miss something vitally important. Thank God, He is not like me. I do not like to repeat myself. He loves us enough to give us the message several times through a multitude of ways. Have you ever noticed the verses in the Bible that repeat? They repeat because God wants us to pay attention to what they say. Take a look at the four gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each of these books repeatedly tell the same story; these verses record the life, teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Repetition is God’s way of saying, ‘Hey You, Listen Up’! Take some time and walk through the scriptures and find those repetitions. One good example is Psalm 136. God’s anthem cry in these verses is “I love you. My love never fails, it will endure forever”. No matter what you do, God’s love is unfailing. Remember, God is speaking. One of my favorite songs is entitled God Speaking by Mandisa. Check it out here. Here is a part of the lyric from the song:
“Have you ever heard a love song that set your spirit free?
Have you ever watched a sunrise and felt you could not breathe?
What if it’s Him? What if it’s God speaking?
Have you ever cried a tear that you could not explain?
Have you ever met a stranger who already knew your name?
What if it’s Him? What if it’s God speaking?
Who knows how He’ll get a hold of us? Get our attention to prove He’s enough.
He’ll do and He’ll use whatever he wants to, To tell us ‘I love you’.”
Pay attention. God is speaking. He is saying, “I love you, now and forever.”
