Philippians 3:13-14 – But one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Are you holding on to those things God told you to release? It’s time to let go.
Scripture Focus:
“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” — Hebrews 12:1
Are you carrying things that God never asked you to bear? Sometimes, it’s not the obvious sins that slow us down, but the subtle weights—fear, shame, regret, or even comfort. God’s Word gently challenges us to let go. You can’t move forward while constantly glancing in the rearview mirror. Whether it’s a past mistake or a former success, clinging to it may cost you today’s progress. It’s time to let go.
Ecclesiastes 3:6 teaches us that there’s “a time to keep and a time to throw away.” Ask God for wisdom to discern what no longer belongs in your life — old habits, toxic relationships, limiting beliefs. If it’s not helping you run your race, it’s time to release it. What are you valuing more than God’s purpose? Releasing your grip on the temporary frees your hands to receive the eternal.
In Isaiah 43:18-19, God declares, “Forget the former things… I am doing a new thing!” Are you making room for the new by letting go of the old? What God has ahead is greater than what’s behind. The dreams He dreams for you are greater than the dreams you are clinging to. Let go.
Finally, 1 John 2:15-17 reminds us: “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” Anchor your heart in eternity, not in the fleeting.
Prayer: Lord, show me what I need to release. Help me to lay aside every weight — every distraction, fear, and attachment that hinders Your purpose in my life. Give me the courage to let go, the wisdom to discern the season, and the faith to press forward into what You’ve prepared for me. My heart is Yours. Amen.
