Mindset Mondays: Godly Success

You can obtain Godly SUCCESS! What is your view of success? Is it having money, status, lots of friends in high places, or having your dream job? God’s view is totally different. Here are  five key aspects of success according to the Word:

1. Obedience to God’s Will

  • Success is rooted in obeying and trusting God’s commands rather than pursuing personal ambitions. True success comes when we align our lives with God’s purposes.
  • Joshua 1:8:
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

success2. Trusting in the Lord

  • Success is trusting God for guidance and provision, relying on His wisdom instead of our own understanding.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

3. Living a Life of Integrity and Righteousness

  • True success is living righteously and with integrity, not gaining wealth or power at the expense of others.
  • Psalm 1:1-3:
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

4. Seeking God’s Kingdom First

  • Prioritizing God’s Kingdom over material pursuits leads to success, as God promises to meet all our needs when we seek Him first.
  • Matthew 6:33:
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

5. Serving Others and Glorifying God

  • Success in the Bible is often measured by how we serve others and how our lives bring glory to God, rather than self-promotion or accumulation of riches.
  • Mark 10:43-45:
“Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Biblical success is a life of obedience, faithfulness, integrity, and service to God and others. It’s measured by our alignment with God’s will and our eternal impact rather than by temporary gains or recognition. Are you ready to try success God’s way? It starts with obedience.
