I Don’t IMPLY! Imply means to suggest something without saying it directly. I don’t imply. One of my favorite TV series is The Last Ship. It’s about a navy warship that was sent to help find the cure for a deadly pandemic. The captain of the ship is Captain Tom Chandler. He made a statement to an adversary, and the adversary asked what he was implying. Captain Chandler said, “I am a military man, and I don’t imply!”
We need to have that same attitude with the devil. We, too, are military men and women in God’s service, and we should never imply. When we start proclaiming what the Word says about us, our purpose and our destiny, and the enemy rears his ugly head and starts speaking lies, we need to hit him hard with the Word, and we do not need to be meek about it. Make sure he knows that we are not implying, we mean exactly what we are saying in full agreement with the Word.
Jesus did not imply. When He made a statement, He spoke with intent and with faith. When He told the wind and waves to be calm, He was not making a suggestion. “And He got up and [sternly] rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still (muzzled)!” And the wind died down [as if it had grown weary] and there was [at once] a great calm [a perfect peacefulness]” (Mark 4:39). When He told demons to leave, He meant it and they left. “When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons; and He cast out the evil spirits with a word, and restored to health all who were sick [exhibiting His authority as Messiah]” (Matthew 8:16). When He raised Lazarus from the dead, He was not shaking in His sandals and begging, He shouted with authority. “When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” (John 11:43).
These are only a few examples of the authority Jesus utilized, and we have been given the same authority (Luke 10:19). It’s time to stop implying; it’s time to start speaking the Word with authority. Repeat after me; I don’t IMPLY!
