Mindset Mondays: Lazy in Faith

Some, myself included, are lazy in faith. We know we are already healed, but we fail to utilize our faith. Healing is part of our covenant with God. We were healed by His stripes. Notice the ‘were‘; it’s already done (1 Peter 2:23-25). From the Old Testament and throughout the New Testament God continually reveals to us His plan for us to be whole. I know people who are in need of healing, and I pray for them daily. Some of them know they are already healed, and others need a reminder of what Jesus did for us on the cross.

God’s plan of Salvation: Sozo means to save, to deliver or protect (literally or figuratively):—heal, preserve, save (self), do well, and be (make) whole. God was intent on providing for your physical healing as much as he was determined to provide spiritual healing from sin.

lazy faithI have a new appreciation for God’s healing covenant. I was on a trip a few months ago, and every morning when I woke up, my knees and legs hurt terribly. There was a burning sensation moving up and down my legs from my knees all the way down to my ankles. I could not figure out why they were hurting every morning before I got out of bed. One morning, as I was praying, the Holy Spirit said to me, “It’s an attack of the enemy. Lay hands on your knees and legs and begin to pray and rebuke the enemy.” Immediately after I did this, the pain left. The truth is I knew what to do; I simply failed to do it. I was being lazy in faith. We are told to be vigilant (1 Peter 5:8) ~ “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith.”

There are times when we go through things that God has already provided an answer for. We don’t need to call a prayer meeting or email the elders of the church. We must use our faith and decree what God has already done. Stop being lazy in faith. Let this mind be in you: I AM THE HEALED OF THE LORD!
