Has God been pruning your life? To grow and flourish into your purpose, there will be pruning in your life, in every area. This is done so you can bear even greater fruit and a greater harvest (John 15:2). You don’t want to carry dead weight around or anything that’s dried up or dead that’s not bearing fruit. These dead things become a hindrance and a weight. It will eventually drain all the life out of you. Be careful what you hang around and what you allow through your ear and eye gate and into your heart(spirit).
So, when God says “let it go’, please let it go! When God says, “leave and go where I am sending you”, please go! Don’t be concerned about who understands what you are doing; it’s part of the pruning process. As long as God is leading you, go!!! Fear not the face of man, but fear God (Jeremiah 1:8, Ezekiel 2:6). If God is with you and for you, who can stand against you? (Romans 8:31)
The pruning process hurts, but it’s for your good. It’s like some of the nasty tasting medicine your grandmother or mother would give you for a cold back in the day called Castor Oil or the spankings you got for being disobedience. It was nasty tasting and your butt was sore, but it harvested the necessary results for a healthier body and longer life for you. Pruning also builds character, trust, and integrity so you can handle the next assignment that God has for you.
During the season of pruning, praise God in the midst of it! Emanuel, God is with us will never leave us or forsake us. Hear me, you will never understand everything God is asking you to do. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, especially during this season of pruning, and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Jesus’s coming to the earth was not about Him, it was all about Him obeying the Father and us being redeemed. The same for us as believers, it’s not about us; it’s about other souls coming into the knowledge of God’s love for themselves. When they see us stand in the midst of trials, temptation, tragedy, death, and sickness or whatever dis-ease it may be, and we allow the joy of the Lord to be our strength, it gives them hope. They desire the kind of God you serve and they too will desire that type of relationship with Jesus.
I challenge you to do a study on pruning and embrace whatever GOD is doing in you! Pruning becomes more important for fruit trees than for other trees because you are creating not just a pleasing shape, but a shape that will help the trees to bear high-quality fruit and they will be able to carry the weight of the fruit it bears. SALAH!
