Trust in God’s promise to do exactly what He said He would do. He will never fail you. Some of you need to ‘pack a box.’ God gave you a word (a covenant promise), and you still have not seen the fulfillment. Are you starting to doubt that you heard correctly? If you want something you have never had, you need to do something you have never done. If God told you the ‘house you wanted was coming’ and you still have not started packing, you need to ‘pack a box.’ Do something, by faith, to show that you have confident expectation in His Word. Are you believing for a new job, and you have not updated your resume or applied for any jobs? It’s time to ‘pack a box.’
By following these five principles, you can develop a mindset of faith and trust in God’s unwavering covenant:
T – Turn to God in Prayer
Approach God with your requests and thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].”
R – Rely on His Word
Ground yourself in Scripture and let God’s promises take root in your heart. Joshua 1:8 reminds us, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.”
U – Unwavering Faith
Believe without doubting that God will fulfill His promises. James 1:6-7 instructs, “But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. 7 For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord.”
S – Submit to His Timing
Wait patiently for God’s perfect timing rather than rushing ahead. Isaiah 40:31 encourages us: “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power;
they will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired.”
T – Thank Him in Advance
Express gratitude for what God will do, even before you see the fulfillment. Mark 11:24 teaches, “For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.”
These principles work together to create a posture of faith that positions you to receive all that God has promised. He is a covenant-keeping God!
