Last week we learned about Jesus the Ultimate Blogger. Here’s why He deserves that title:
- Jesus had a strategic plan
- Jesus wrote an awesome ‘About Me’ page
- Jesus spent time with His target audience
This week we will learn more about Jesus the Ultimate Blogger. No matter where He went, He always had us in mind. He was working the plan that the Father had laid out before the foundation of the world. Jesus did not leave us to fend for ourselves. We have a way to always be in contact with Him and the Father.
4. Jesus provided an ’email address’. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). In Jeremiah 33:3, He admonishes us to contact Him at any time. We do not have to be afraid of Him not hearing or answering us. ‘Call on me and I will answer’ is what His email is all about. Knock and the door will be opened for you. Jesus answers His email. Revelation 3:20 tells us “I stand knocking at the door. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I will go into his house, and dine with him, and he with me.” Do you have a contact page and a designated email for your subscribers? Can they depend on you to answer your emails or to send them any requested information? Do you take the time to read and answer ‘Comments’? Follow Jesus’s example and make yourself available to your audience.
5. Jesus published great content. God gave us the Bible (His Word) so we would know how to live both physically and spiritually. Psalm 107:20, He sent His Word… John 1 identifies the Word, “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. John 1:14, “And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).” Some have stated that the Word was written by men. This is true, however, those men wrote by the Spirit of God. That same Spirit that moved upon the waters in Genesis 1, impregnated Mary in Matthew 1:18, also moved upon those men of God when they wrote. “All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage] (2 Timothy 3:16 AMP). The Word is:
- Alive and Active
- Sharper than any double-edged sword
- Cuts through everything, whether doubt or defense
- Exposes and judges the very thoughts and intentions of the heart
- God breathed
- Light
- Eternal
- Full of Grace and Truth
Take a look at your content. Is it filled with God’s Word? Is it God inspired and useful for correction in a loving manner? If not revise, revise, and revise some more.
6. Jesus gave a loud and clear call to action. Jesus’ ‘Clarion Call’ is a dynamic call to action (Clarion means: brilliantly clear, loud and clear, a call to action). A clarion is a musical instrument (trumpet). It is used to call to attention. The greatest clarion call in the Bible can be found in Revelation 8 and 9. The sounding of the seven trumpets which are a pronouncement from heaven. The purpose of these trumpet sounds is to awaken the world to the fact that judgment is about to come. Their message is ‘Be Always Ready’.
Jesus has a number of Clarion Calls in the Word:
- Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
- Mark 8:34-37, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? “
- Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
Does your blog post have a loud and clear call to action? Jesus said to Come and to Follow. Both of these calls are very evident in all of His content. Jesus the Ultimate Blogger has provided us with a call to action that cannot be misunderstood.
