Marriage is important to God. We “Christians” are the Bride and Body of Christ and One with Him. So are we as Husband and Wife, One with God with Jesus at the Center, the Core, The Threefold Chord of our Holy Union.
Luke 9:23 is a verse I have never associated with what Marriage is and the example of what marriage is until today while praying and thanking God as Greg and I celebrate our 1-Year Anniversary. As you read this verse, think about a husband and wife, especially those of you who are planning and desiring to get married and may already be in counseling.
This scripture is an awesome example of how your heart posture should be according to the example of what Jesus is saying to his disciplines in this verse. If we as husband and wife would humble ourselves and just apply our Hearts to this ONE verse, amongst others, there would a tremendous decrease in divorce.
Luke 9:23 (AMP) – And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross daily [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].
Remember: MATTHEW 9:6 – WHAT GOD HAD JOINED TOGETHER LET NO MAN (not even yourself/ourselves) PUT ASUNDER/SEPARATE.
Let’s Glorify God and bring hope to others in being an example of Jesus Christ in our Marriage and every area of our lives.
I hope you have enjoyed this message from guest blogger Eve Washington as she and her husband Greg celebrate their 1-year anniversary. We pray their marriage continues to be blessed and an example for others who may be struggling or may need a reminder of how much God wants to be involved in your marriage.
