Vision is important in our everyday walk with the Lord. As you start this new year are you seeking to follow God’s vision or are you looking for direction from other sources. God has a plan (Jeremiah 29:11) and you have to discover and live out that plan. We must be in agreement with God and walk in obedience to the plan He has for us. The evening news can’t tell you the plan; your favorite tv show can’t tell you the plan; your best friend can’t tell you the plan; only God can reveal it to you. We must Read More

Decisions: Paths to Your Destiny
Decisions guide our lives. Have you ever made the decision to serve God? Or to stay active? What about the decision to eat healthily? We all make decisions, yet sometimes our decisions are not based on good information or from the leading of the Holy Spirit. Decisions are often based on information we have in a single moment in time. One of my favorite animated movies is Anastasia. If you don’t know the story you can read about it here. In the animated version, Anastasia comes to a crossroads and she has to make a decision. She is not sure Read More
Narratives: Pursuing Purpose in a Crazy World
Narratives are the storylines of your life. They are accounts, reports, stories, events, or experiences. My narratives include being born and raised in rural North Carolina to currently working on my doctorate. I have changed the narratives of my life many times. Recently I heard the Lord say, ‘tell my people it’s time for them to remove themselves from the narratives currently shaping their lives’. Removing yourself from the narratives means it is time to stop doing whatever it is you are currently doing, take a look at what you are doing and see if it lines up with what Read More
Contemplating: 2021 in Review
Contemplating means to think profoundly and at length, to meditate. I have been contemplating the top five events of 2021 in my life. I have completed so many things which at some point I thought were not possible, but with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). God is the author and finisher of my faith journey (Hebrews 12:2). Here are my top five 2021 moments in review. Retired: Semi Wrote and published three books: Being: Manifesting the Image of God Life Lessons from the Book of Ruth: Pageantry of Destiny Praying Through the Pandemic: Ignite your faith and conquer Read More
Boldness: Plans, Purposes, and Pursuits
Boldness. Be bold in your pursuits. It’s the end of January and as usual, God and I had a conversation about making plans for the coming year. We looked at my plans, purposes, and pursuits from 2020, and He gave me direction for 2021. One of my goals for this year is to publish a book about praying through the pandemic. Look for it later in the year. Boldness is a gift. Do not let the enemy steal this from you. God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible (2 Timothy 1:6-7). Tune-up: Run to the Father for Spiritual Repair
Tune-up needed? Run to the Creator (Colossians 1:16). We have been replacing a few of our electronic devices over the last few days. Some are very old; others are starting to act up. New items come with a warranty. These warranties are for a specific amount of time and with the warranty, you can return for repair or replacement if needed. This reminded me of how we are sometimes in need of repair and need to go back to our heavenly Father for a tune-up (Isaiah 40:29) Have you ever been so exhausted you can barely stand, or so overwhelmed Read More
