Practicing God’s Presence

When we are faced with storms, we need to practice God’s presence. If we follow God’s plan, we can make it through life’s many storms. God hides us safely under the cover of His wings  (Psalm 91), where no harm can come to us. All we have to do is abide forever in His presence. These lyrics from a song by Paul Wilbur (In Your Presence) inspire me. Whenever I am faced with what appears to be insurmountable trials, I listen to this song. By focusing on the Word, the storms no longer seem insurmountable. If you are facing storms, Read More

Mindset Monday: All Power and Authority Are Yours

Power and Authority in  Christ are yours. Authority means “the power to determine, adjudicate, or otherwise settle issues or disputes; jurisdiction; the right to control, command, or determine.” What I want to convey in this post is how as a believer, you have authority in the earth to speak to your situation and expect that situation to change as it relates to the Word of God. Mark 11:23-24 says, speak to the storms in your life and do not doubt. In Luke 10:19, Jesus told the disciples, “I give you authority over all the power of the enemy (the devil). Storms: It’s Time to Prepare

Storms are inevitable. Prepare! The National Weather Service lets us know when storms are heading our way. Here in Oklahoma, we get tornado warnings during the spring storm season. These spiritual storms may not come with heavy rain, winds, flooding, or tornados, but they can be just as devastating. What can we do to prepare? When the weather service tells us storms are coming we should have a plan of escape and Read More

Proverbs 30:5 – WORD UP!

I LOVE GOD’S WORD. Proverbs 30:5 says “Every WORD of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.”  Psalm 91 is one of my favorite scriptures. I love every verse. When I think of all the times I have relied on this scripture; believe me, there are too many to count.  The recent storms roaring through Oklahoma are a good example of how much I rely on this scripture. We’ve had night after night of tornados, torrential rain, hail, and high winds. I cannot be more convinced that God acts when we speak Read More

Suddenlies: Godly Mushrooming

We are in a season of ‘Godly Mushrooming’ or Suddenlies. Things are speeding up in the natural and in the Spirit. Have you noticed it? The word ‘mushroom‘ has many meanings including ‘an umbrella shaped fungus’. The definition I am using today is ‘to spring up suddenly or multiply rapidly’.  The verb form of mushroom is ‘mushrooming’ meaning a sudden, rapid growth. Many species of mushrooms seemingly appear suddenly overnight, growing or expanding rapidly. It’s been so wet and rainy here in Tulsa that huge mushrooms are springing up everywhere; which inspired me to write this post. Take a look at Read More
