Thankful in all things. Give thanks to God, for His mercy endures forever. As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to inspire you to commit to being thankful. Take time every day to first all tell God how thankful you are; secondly, tell someone else what you are thankful for. I know ‘2020‘ has been a tough year for some. Nevertheless, be thankful. Things could be so much worst.
One of my favorite scriptures on thankfulness is Psalm 136. The Word of God challenges us to always giving thanks because God is always so faithful and His mercy (loving-kindness) endures forever. This scripture contains 26 verses and God assures us of His enduring love and mercy 26 times. This is a truth God wants us to remember.
Not only are there twenty-six verses in Psalm 136 reminding us of God’s mercy, but there are also more verses in the Psalms to remind us.
Psalm 106:1 – Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever!
Psalm 107:1 – O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His compassion and lovingkindness endure forever!
Psalm 118:1 – 4
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness endures forever.
O let Israel say, “His lovingkindness endures forever.”
O let the house of Aaron say, “His lovingkindness endures forever.”
O let those who [reverently] fear the Lord, say, “His lovingkindness endures forever.”
Psalm 118:29 –O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness endures forever.
Take time each day to give thanks to God for His loving kindness and faithfulness. God is good, and His love and mercy endures forever. God is a promise keeper. If He said it, He will do it. Rely on His love, mercy, and grace each day to get you through the rough times, especially during this season. HappyThanksgiving.
