This Christmas Season 2020 is here and we have to adapt, praise God, and have fun doing it. During this Christmas season, we remember and celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I know 2020 has been a challenge for some of you, but keep the faith. God is still good, no matter the circumstance. Take some time to slow down, meditate on the Word, and enjoy the season.
As I was thinking about the goodness of God and thanking Him for all He has done for me this year, I was reminded of some of those things which I really enjoy; my favorite things. Today I am sharing some of those with you. There is a song called My Favorite Things from Simply Christmas, by Leslie Odom, Jr. It’s a pretty good album, check it out.
1. Music: Avalon Christmas Album, Joy. The last song on the album is entitled We are the Reason. We are the reason He gave His life; we are the reason He suffered and died….
2. Movies: Christmas with Holly and Borrowed Hearts. These two have been my all-time Christmas favorites for years and I still love them both.
3. Book: Baxter Family Christmas by Karen Kingsbury. I love Karen Kingsbury. If you have not read any of her books you should start. Pick up a few and when you are finished with them, pass them on to a friend.
4. Activities: Decorating this Christmas was the one thing I absolutely loved doing. I started in October and continued until the entire house was decorated. I have decorations in every room. Decorating is my therapy; it’s like the gardening activities I do in the Spring and Summer.
5. Entertaining: The annual Nowell Christmas Party was a little different this year. We did it virtually. We sent a Zoom link to everyone to log in the night of the party. We sent out a box of goodies including popcorn, candy, hot chocolate, Christmas socks and glasses, and a copy of the movie Polar Express. As always, we played games and gave away prizes. It was the Pandemic version, but it was still a lot of fun.
