Forever Grateful: Created to Praise Him

I am forever grateful for the cross and that He came to seek and save the lost. Giving thanks to God, for His mercy endures forever.  Aren’t you glad that He did not wait for us to cry out to Him, but He came looking for us? Aren’t you forever grateful for all that He does for you every day? Even the little things. I was telling one of my library patrons that God is not just good some of the time; He is good all the time. I am forever grateful about that TRUTH. I take nothing for granted. Not the air Read More

Feasts and Festivals: Meet Him There

Celebrating the feasts and festivals of the Lord is not common among Christians. In my house, we celebrate (Pesach) Passover. As a Christian, I think it is important to understand why God created these feasts and festivals and what the significance is for Christians. God specifically gave these instructions to the Jews: “Three times a year you shall celebrate a festival to me” (Exodus 23:14). These three appointments were Pesach (Passover), Shavuot (Pentecost), and Sukkot (Tabernacles). In addition to these three, God added four additional times of celebration in Leviticus 23, thereby making a total of seven celebrations. Matzah (Unleavened Read More

Survival Strategies: Listening (Get Understanding)

My number two survival strategy is listening. You can play all the music, read all the Word, and pray all the time; however, if you never stop to listen to the voice of God, you have already lost the battle. God speaks and He expects us to listen. Sometimes we are so caught up in the problem we forget to listen for the solution. We try to figure it out on our own, usually making the situation worst. I often wonder why people think God listens to our prayers, but we never consider that He also speaks to us. Conversation Read More

Focus: Game Changer or Plan Killer?

Focus can be a game changer for your busy week.  However, broken focus will most likely lead to disaster. It can be a plan killer. I’ve had a very busy week and stressful week. Our Fall semester starts on Monday and I’ve been working diligently trying to get stuff ready for the incoming students. This week has also been filled with meetings and more meetings. I have been truly relying on the Holy Spirit to help me focus and to bring things to my remembrance (John 14:26).  I ‘ve put my life in His care of me this week and He has Read More

Self-doubts and Other Lies

Listen. What are you hearing? Lies, self-doubts, whispers from the enemy? I want to offer some encouragement to those of you who are having doubts about your calling. This has been a rough year for a lot of people. Jobs have been lost, loved ones have died, bills are piling up and God seems to be helping everyone, except you. Maybe things are not going as well as you would like or have hoped. Maybe the enemy is constantly whispering in your ears that you are worthless, a nobody who is doomed to fail. Well, I have good news for Read More

Part 2 – Supernatural Provision: Choices

Supernatural provision, Part 1,  defined lean times as an absence of food, finances, etc.  In other words, not enough.  In those times, we must consider the choices we make. Part 2 reveals how you can still receive supernatural provision in the worst of times by studying the life of Joseph (Genesis 37-50). Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers and taken to Egypt. When we study his reaction to all of this and the choices he made,  we find a young man who refused to allow his circumstances to dictate how he lived his life. He stayed true to his Read More
