Level Up: Growing in the Knowledge of God

We need to level up. God created a world in which seasons change. Seasons change in your life as well as in nature. God may change your season from one of writing to one of studying a specific topic. Trust God in those seasons even when you don’t understand why He is asking you to make that change. Your purpose can expand and grow as you grow up in Christ. Your yesterday season may not be sufficient to take you to the next level.

To level up means progressing to the next level, honing your skills, unlocking new tools, conquering the obstacles in your way, and taking risks. You do not have to do this alone; God gave you the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, your helper, to assist you. Learn to listen to the Holy Spirit to direct your path (John 14:16-17). The Greek word paraklētos means someone who is called to come alongside to help someone else.

The word paraklētos  (Paraclete) has a legal connotation; it is particularly appropriate alongside another legal term, martyreō,  which means to confirm or attest something on the basis of personal knowledge or belief, bear witness, be a witness, offer testimony. The Holy Spirit presents Christ’s case for him before the believers and the world (and your case).

Let’s allow the Paraclete (personal advocate) to help us to level up. God has given us so much potential. We have to allow our advocate to teach us how to use that potential to complete our God-given assignments. Your new season awaits. Get excited!

This prayer from Colossians 1:9-10  is for you today:

I am asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes] and in understanding [of spiritual things] so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts].
