Millionaire Mindset: Habits

New habits need to be developed if you want a millionaire mindset. Education is a key ingredient. Over the past couple of weeks, I revealed how to retrain our brains about success, wealth, and prosperity. Additionally, you learned three primary keys to developing a millionaire mindset. These keys include:

  1. Your attitude will have a profound effect on your latitude. Remember you will not attract what you disrespect.
  2. Don’t ignore the IFs. If we will, He will.
  3. Don’t disqualify yourself when God-ordained opportunities present themselves. A millionaire mindset believes in the power of Not Yet, not failure. Look at failures as stepping stones, not roadblocks.

This week you will learn about building new habits that will assist you in developing a millionaire mindset. Did you ever wonder what habits the wealthy have that others do not possess? Here are six habits of the wealthy:

1. They make plans and set goals. If you do not make plans, you plan to fail. Be a  planner and a goal-setter. Make a list of what you want to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly (Habakkuk 2:2). You should have a plan of where you want to be in 5 years.

2. They don’t overspend. Have a plan to save and invest money (Proverbs 6:6-8). If you don’t have enough money to pay your bills and save money, you need to find ways to earn extra money.

3. Create multiple streams of income. Research shows that 65% of wealthy people Chad at least three different streams of income set up prior to making their first $1 million. There are multiple ways to make money. There is affiliate marketing, writing and selling content, or starting an online store. Take a look at some YouTube videos to learn about starting a side hustle (Ecclesiastes 11:1-5).

4. Read and educate yourself. Wealthy people not only work dual jobs, they make time to read. Start reading educational and self-improvement books  (Proverbs 18:15). Studies show that only 8% of low earners read educational or self-improvement books. Warren Buffet said he reads 5 to 6 hours a day and both Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg say reading helped to ensure their financial success.

5. Avoid toxic relationships. Part of the millionaire mindset is hanging out with the right people. Only 4% of low-income people associate with “success-minded” people. You should have a mentor or a coach to keep you accountable on your journey to wealth (Proverbs 9:9).

6. Don’t engage in negative self-talk. Start your day with success affirmations. Life and death are in the power of your tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Be your biggest cheerleader!

There is no better time to start forming these new habits than today. Author and motivational speaker, Deletorro McNeal, states you should try to improve at least 1% every day. It’s time to shift and start thinking like a millionaire. Start by renewing your mind and modifying your speech. The millionaire mindset is well within your reach.
