Special Needs are defined as: Any of various difficulties (such as a physical, emotional, behavioral, or learning disability or impairment) that causes an individual to require additional or specialized services or accommodations. I am continuing this week with more of the In Him series. I was reading an article the other day about people with special needs, specifically, Trisomy 21, or Down syndrome. It’s a really good article so read it if you have time. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, ‘Everyone has Special Needs.’ I thought, wow, that is so true. God knows all of our special needs and He has promised to meet them. He knows if we require additional or specialized services and accommodations.
I was thinking about myself and how my daughter calls me a HOT MESS. God already knows I am a HOT MESS, and He loves me anyway. The same is true for everyone else, even those who do not know Him. He is not surprised at how messed up we can be somedays. I imagine He just looks at us and shakes His head wondering, ‘What in the world were they thinking?’
This is Tristan. He has special needs. I call him my little rock star. He is the sweetest baby. God saw the need to give him to a very special family who loves him to the moon and back. Like Tristan, we also have a special family, the family of God, and God is a loving Father who knows us better than we know ourselves. Our In Him scripture this week is Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” In Him, all our needs will be supplied and all of our accommodations will be met.
Think about a time when you were not sure that you mattered to God or anyone else and God did something for you that was so special and so miraculous that you knew it came from Him. He was the only one who could have made the accommodations you needed and pulled this off. That’s how special you are to Him. It does not matter if you are a baby, like Tristan or an adult, God will meet your special needs. Trust Him to do it.
Remember, In Him, we have life. I hope you are encouraged by this Word. Please like us on Facebook and share with your friends and family. I will continue next week with another addition of In Him Realities series. Have a blessed week.
