Supernatural weapons must be utilized against your supernatural enemy, your stalker. This week we are going to learn which weapons are the most effective. First of all, identify your true enemy. In some parts of the United States, there are Stand Your Ground laws. These laws state that individuals have the right to use reasonable force, including deadly force, to protect themselves against an intruder in their home. The same holds true for God’s house. Any intruder who dares attack you, you have the right to annihilate. However, we must know our enemy, it’s not people. We do not fight against those made of flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in supernatural places.
The weapons we use must be made to withstand supernatural forces. Ephesians 6:14-19 gives us a list of those supernatural weapons: the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage), the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), the gospel of truth in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability, and the readiness produced by the good news], the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Another supernatural weapon, which is often overlooked, is prayer. We need to pray always, with all prayer and petition [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.
In Corinthians 10:3-5, Paul states, For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ.
We have been given supernatural weapons to defeat supernatural enemies. There are no weapons more powerful than those given to us by God. Guns and bombs will not produce results, but the Word of God is living and sharp enough to destroy any enemy sent to attack you. Use your supernatural weapons!
