Help! This is the cry from the hearts of the masses. Help is needed and often we wonder where our help will come from. It will not come from the government (No consensus reached). It will not come from your employer (Unemployment rate of 7.9%). It will not come from any person. Help, comes from the Lord (Psalm 34:17, Psalm 121).
I was going to write on another topic today, but I thought we could use a clear reality check. We are not a people forgotten (Psalm 10:12). We are not a people without hope (Hebrews 6:19). We are a people whose God is the Lord (Isaiah 45:5)! There is no one greater than He. God has given us a helper, the Holy Spirit. He is the Paracletos, one called alongside to help (John 15:26). If we (God’s people) will humble ourselves, repent and pray, there is nothing that can stand in our way or stop us from succeeding (2 Chronicles 7:14). We often do well with repentance and prayer; we fail at humility (Philippians 2:5-7). We fail to consider others before ourselves. We are prideful and we think we are better than others. This is not God’s way. If we are to usher in the next great revival, we have to make some changes in our hearts and in our attitudes.
Help is available. All we have to do is ask. That is a promise (Matthew 7:7). This is my prayer. Lord, hear us from heaven (2 Chronicles 6:21), bend down and listen to our prayers (Psalm 116:2), heal all of the broken places (Psalm 147:3), and forgive us for our sins (1 John 1:9). Lead us and guide us into all truth (John 16:13). God is true to His word. He will not leave you or forsake you.
