Divine Encounter: What’s in your hand?

Divine encounters happen all the time. God has a divine plan to get you firmly placed within your destiny.  A divine encounter happens when God orchestrates an encounter with someone or something to bring you out on the other side. You only need to be willing and obedient. What do you have in your hand? God has given us everything we need to succeed. First, we have His Word and the Holy Spirit. With God on our side and the Holy divine encounterSpirit living within us, how can we be defeated. God also provides us with encounters that He uses for His purpose. You may only have a little something in your hand and then you have a divine encounter. It does not matter if it’s a rock, a stick, a few pennies, a pinch of flour or a tablespoon of oil. Give it to God and let him use it for His glory.

  1. Moses had his staff. He divided the sea (Exodus 14:16) and brought water from the rocks (Exodus 17:6).
  2. David had his sling and stones and he killed the giant (1 Samuel 17:50-51).
  3. Widow woman at Zarephath had very little in her hand. She told Elijah, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die” (1 Kings 17:12). She obeyed the prophet, used what was in her hand, made a meal and the meal fed them for many days.
  4. Prophet’s widow had a small amount of oil that multiplied into a thriving business. Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me. What do you have in your house?” The woman replied, “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” (2 Kings 4:1-7)

What do you have in your hand? Whatever it is, God can use it to bring you into your destiny.  “Believe and trust in the Lord your God and you will be established (secure). Believe and trust in His prophets and succeed” (2 Chronicles 20:20).
