God wants us to hear and obey. In other words ‘Shema’. There is a Hallmark movie called, What the Deaf Man Heard. The premise of the story is that a young man pretended to be deaf when he actually heard everything that was being said around him. He knew all of the town’s secrets. Listen up; you need to hear this. God will not move you up the ladder of promotion beyond your last act of disobedience.
God does not want us to be like the supposedly deaf man; He wants us to truly hear Him and obey Him. When God asks you, ‘what did you hear’? You need to reply with the Word, not with gossip. Gossip is what the deaf man heard. God wants and has something better for us. Stop listening to the voices of the world and start listening to God’s instructions.
There is so much negativity in the world right now. If you allow yourself to constantly listen to what everybody is saying you will be unable to determine truth from lies. That’s why some of you are stuck. You are still wallowing in the same mess you were in last year. It’s time to get moving. Allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse your ears and your heart with the washing of the water of the Word. Who cares what the deaf man heard; what do you hear? How do you obtain faith? Romans 10:17 tells us, faith comes by hearing the Word of God continually. Let the Shema be your way of life; hearing, seeking understanding and obeying. That’s the way God wants us to hear. When you hear and obey God will move in your situation. Your promotion will be ACCELERATED.
