Prayer: Be Intentional

Prayer is communication with God. We need to pray without ceasing and be intentional about it. I wrote a series called ‘Girl, Cleanse Your House’ a few years ago. If you have not read it, you can find it here. I was reminded of that post when reading my daily devotional. It is imperative that we practice prayers of protection against evil intentions against ourselves and our families. This was taken from my daily devotional:

When I wake up most mornings, I break word curses, hexes, vexes, spells, incantations, potions, and every expression of witchcraft coming against me, my family, my finances, my businesses, my ministries, and everything I put my hand to, in Jesus’ name. Why do I do that? Because with an international ministry, I am getting hit with all this mess constantly. I don’t even have to discern it. It’s on social media and in my e-mail inbox. Remember, Proverbs 18:21 says the power of death and life are in the tongue. A word curse is a form of witchcraft that taps into the power of death that’s in your tongue—or someone else’s tongue.”

Additionally, she talks about the power of curses and why we need to break their power over our lives:

“Curses—or at least the associated witchcraft—will land if we don’t break it first. According to the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, “A curse was considered to possess an inherent power of carrying itself into effect.” Jezebel released a word curse against Elijah, and it released witchcraft, fear, and thoughts of death. It landed. What if Elijah had broken that word curse and, instead of running, went back to Jezreel and confronted the witch? Don’t let word curses send you into a cave.”

Let me highlight this statement: “A curse was considered to possess an inherent power of carrying itself into effect.”

If you do not intentionally break (speak against, denounce, cancel out) a curse, it has the power to carry itself out. So, BE INTENTIONAL.

Some do not think these things are real, but I assure you they are. Curses are why some are dealing with thoughts of suicide, are powerless to move, and are bound by sin. It’s time to break free. There may be a curse of poverty over you and your family, a curse of divorce, or some sickness that stalks you and has affected everyone in your family. Take a look at your family history. It’s time to break those curses from your family line. Here is a prayer that will help you.
