Secrets to Answered Prayer: Part 1

Secrets. How many of you want to know a secret? Hard to resist, right?  For the next few weeks, I am going to reveal to you a few prayer secrets. During this season many of you have prayed and asked for help with many things including needing more money and taking care of your family. Some have been praying for what seems to be a long, long time and you think God has not heard you or He is not answering you. Since there is no way I could tell you all of these secrets in one post, I am doing a series on the secrets to answered prayer. Stay tuned each Wednesday for a new secret.

Secrets to answered prayer
The first secret is so simple. The answer is; you need to PRAY. I can hear some of you already saying, she has got to be kidding? No, I am very serious. Not everyone falls into this category; however, many times when people say they have prayed all they did was complain, whine, throw a few words up into space, speak doubt and unbelief; and then say they prayed.

A few weeks ago God spoke to me and said, “My people have grown silent, I need them to speak, and speak BOLDLY.” Everything God accomplishes, He accomplishes through speech and He expects us to SPEAK. God is not a silent God. From the beginning of the book of Genesis, God spoke and it was. (Luke 18:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6) All through the Word, God commands us to speak, confess and pray.

There is no way to receive answers to our prayers if we do not pray. So how should you pray? Well, first of all, you need to be sure you have positioned yourself to be heard. Are you a born again believer? Are you in a covenant relationship with Him?  A covenant has to be between two or more parties. God has a part and we have to play in this relationship; therefore the word ‘if’ is necessary for covenant language. If we do our part; God will do His part. This is a sure thing because God made a covenant with Himself, and He cannot lie. Prayer is necessary if we want answers.  So pray and pray BOLDLY. He wants to hear from you. There are a lot of books available on prayer; I highly recommend this one by Lynne Hammond.

Prayer secret #2 coming next week. I would love to hear from you; please email me or post comments.
