Summer Desserts: Triple Berry Crisp

Summer desserts are the best. Triple Berry Crisp is a sweet treat just about anyone can make. It’s summertime here in Oklahoma;  temperatures in the high 90s with a heat index of 105-110. In other words, it’s HOT.   It’s time for some delicious summer desserts.  This dessert has fresh berries which are readily available at the store in the summer months. It makes 12 servings so wait until you have a crowd to feed, especially if you are watching the calories. You can even make this berry crisp in Ramekins for individual servings. Triple Berry Crisp

  • 1 1⁄2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 1⁄2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 1 1⁄2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1⁄2 cups butter

 

 

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°

In a large bowl, gently toss together strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and white sugar, then set aside.

In a separate large bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until crumbly.

Press half of mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan. Cover with berries. Sprinkle remaining crumble mixture over the berries.

Bake in a pre-heated 350° oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until fruit is bubbly and topping is golden brown.

Serve with ice cream or whipped topping. Enjoy!
