Millionaire Mindset: God’s Hand or Heart

Millionaire mindset week three. Are we seeking God’s hand or His heart? We have already established that God wants His people to prosper. We know that He gives us seed to sow, the power to create wealth, and a plan for our success. If you missed the previous posts, find them here and here. Let’s discuss why it’s not working. It’s time for some reality.

The Bible says if you bring your tithes,  He will open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it (Malachi 3:10). Furthermore, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 states, Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously. God loves a cheerful giver.

If you are a giver and if the Bible is true, and IT IS, God’s people should be living very prosperous lives. Poverty should have no place in your life. There is a disconnect. God is not a man that He can lie. Whatever He said is TRUE. If you are not seeing a harvest, it’s not because God lied; it’s because you are not sowing or not doing what you should be doing. Here are three reasons you are not reaping a harvest:

  1. What are you seeking? Are you seeking God because you love Him and want to spend time with Him? Are you only seeking Him to ask for stuff? Are you seeking God’s hand or heart? God and I were having a conversation about wealth and why His people are not being blessed. He said yes, “I want my people blessed; however they are not spending time with me because they love me. They are not seeking my heart; they are seeking my hand.”  First and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you (Matthew 6:33). What are you seeking? God and your relationship with Him have to come first. Do you ever go to God just to hang out? Sometimes I just want to sit with Him and talk about stuff. He has so much wisdom to share. I get so many good nuggets just hanging out. Seek His heart first.
  2.  Are you Sowing? Seed time and harvest is a kingdom principle. There is no expiration date for sowing and reaping. You cannot have a harvest without seed time. No reaping without sowing. Are you watering your seed? Seeds need water to grow. Prayer is the water needed to grow your seed. Give your seed a destination and start watering with prayer. When a farmer plants a seed, that seed has a destination to become something. No seed is going to produce a harvest without some help. A farmer works hard to be sure his seeds grow. Water those seeds with faith believing that it will produce. You need to see that seed in the future, not in the present. What do you want your seed to become? What is the vision you saw when you planted your seed? Call that seed by name.
  3. Are you operating in forgiveness? Go, make peace with your brother, and then come and present your offering (Matthew 5:24). Forgiveness is key if you want to see a harvest. Mark 11:22-26  teaches us that unforgiveness keeps our faith from working. Verse 25 tells us “Whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone, forgive him [drop the issue, let it go] so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings [against Him and others]. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions. It might not be a huge thing for you. You may not realize you are holding a grudge. Ask God to show you any areas where you are not operating in forgiveness. Watch the blessings start to flow after you obey God.

I hope you have gained a better understanding of why your seeds are not producing a harvest. Trust God’s word. If He said it, it’s true. Are you seeking God’s hand or heart? Ask Him some WHY questions and then listen and obey.  Let’s keep developing that millionaire mindset.
